Kim Xu was born and raised in Suzhou, Mainland China and moved to Shanghai to pursue his passion for art and fashion at the age of 19.

Kim's art very much reflects his personality and life experiences, fusing both traditional Chinese watercolour techniques, a skill he learned from his grandfather, and more western oil based techniques to produce something that is truly unique and speaks of beauty, passion, love and despair.

Kim's art has been the focus of a number of high profile events and editorials and has captured the attention of the fashion world.In 2007, Kim was commisioned by Vogue magazine to do a special edition feature of "fashion meets art" and was praised by them as one of China's most important up-and-coming artists. In 2008, Kim was also asked to form a collaboration with Hong Kong luxury brands boutique"JOYCE" to celebrate the 1 first anniversary of their stores in mainland China (for more information on these and other events please see "events").
